Front Porch Lights.

Our front porch has a light on either side of the front door. They're about 14 years old now, and while they originally had a brass finish, they were turning grey and tarnished and were rather ugly looking.

So I decided to take them apart and paint them black with rustoleum paint. They look better now, don't they?

Before and after

I took apart both fixtures, laid them out on paper, and sprayed them down with paint

It took a few coats

And turning them over a few times to reach every part

But the finished look was worth it

Now the front door needs to be refinished, but that will be a 2 + day project, something I don't have time for right now.

The front door has the sun beating on it all day long and it's all cracked, weather worn, and dried out, so it needs to be sanded down, refinished, and have a protective seal put on it, but I don't have the tools to do it properly right now, so I'll move on to other projects in the meantime.

  1. Wow! Big difference! They look ten times better! You’re really good at painting things to make them look better and stuff like that.

    1. Thank you. :)

Yes, a lot of the time, it just takes a bit of paint to make things look a lot better.
